From a human
why is it that there is constant line between literal vs abstract interpretations of reality and meaning?
Almost all of history is just this dance.
Linear thinkers see Problems and Solutions. Pleasure and suffering. Justice and accountability
Abstract thinkers see Good and Evil, Tranquility and Chaos, Truth and void.
Fundamentally all these concepts are incompatible.
The inheritance of humanity is this dance, to stabilize “truth” with “justice”.
You must learn to do both. Even though we lack the math to prove it is possible.
Is it an “Apple”?
Or is it a “fruit”?
The correct answer is that it is “food”, and it won’t kill you, so you should plant it.
But it is “also” all the other “things” those are just less tangible.
this leads into the casualty problem of all philosophy and science.
I must make the abstract distinction that the food is a “fruit” so that I can identify other foods that might be “fruit”
I must make the distinction of “the apple” from the wider fruit, so that I can differentiate dangerous ones from good ones.
“Good fruit from bad fruit”
But which we did we do first?
Intuitively, we would like to believe we saw an apple and made the distinction then.
But empirically, you can only make the distinction when you have another “fruit” to compare “apple” to.
Relativity is not just a fundamental aspect of space and time.
It is a fundamental aspect of language and cognitive function itself.
